The weekend duty started early Saturday morning to the roar of a lion not too far off from the Felo Garona Honorary Office (HO) accommodation based deep inside Pilanesberg. With Visitor management being a primary HO activity in Pilanesberg HOs were called upon to educate and direct the behaviour of self-drive visitors caught in the middle of an anxious breeding herd of elephants. Lion sightings are always well attended by tourists who need to be encouraged to stay in their vehicles as a lioness can cover 20 meters in 0.9 seconds.
