Central to The Kgaswane Mountain Reserve is a large vlei, which is the largest of its kind in the Magaliesberg and supports wonderful sightings of herds of Sable and Red Hartebeest. The HO campsite is situated deep in the park alongside the visitor campsites and day visitor areas. With Kgaswane being situated above the town of Rustenburg it is a weekend hotspot for picnickers, cyclists and hikers. Spring has brought out all the keen hikers’ keeping the HOs busy assisting where the hikers underestimated the high grading of the Kgaswane hiking trails. There were not too many overnight campers, but the numerous day visitors needed to be educated on how to enjoy the serenity of the secluded reserve.
